The Lighthouse Project
Protect Outline
Kozefó continues it’s visionary outlook and desires to expand the work of The ANA Project and The Food Security Project, by building on the purchased land and developing a facility called The Lighthouse Project. It will develop a community center of support and empowerment for those struggling in Haiti. The community center will contain 5 aspects: 1) a combo orphanage/ schoolhouse, 2) a multi-purpose building, 3) a health clinic 4) a public library and 5) a public park. Each aspect of the integrated community center will be built using “green building” techniques, that are earthquake and hurricane safe.Furthermore, each aspect of the community center will focus on training and capacity building of the people that participate in our programs.
Project Goals
To create a community of support, empowerment and capacity building, so those struggling to survive can have the tools necessary to continuously improve their quality of life.
To create a model of development that can be reused throughout Haiti and the developing world.
Who Benefits?
The Lighthouse Project provides programs and services for everyone: men, women and children. Most immediately, it will benefit the families in the community of Pernier. But as our model grows it will become a center of positive life for all who participate.
We are currently not accepting donations for The Lighthouse Project at this time, as we desire to fulfill the commitment to The ANA Project and The Food Security Project before moving forward. However we want to share this vision, as we dream and map out the future of Kozefó.
